Timely victory for the tardy ‘Chels

You couldn’t make it up. No, actually that’s not true. I mostly do make it up. But in this case, dear reader, there is no need for embellishment. Not only did the ‘Chels give a classic demonstration of their comic timing (or rather lack of timing) today but they also pulled off a stunning and historic victory against the heretofore unbeaten Meadhurst.

This was a brrr-illiant away victory for the ‘Chels, played in sub-arctic temperatures and on a pitch that looked as if it had been ploughed up for spuds. The poor old Popes started out well enough but faded so badly in the second half they were scarcely visible.

Kenchels admit – there’s no beating Beer!

The annual fixture versus the always strong Beer and Lager XI is one to be savoured – literally. EP had gone for a solid line-up but when the whistle went found he only had himself and Newbod to face the onslaught of two pints of London Pride.
