Apologies for the late arrival of this match report, fellow ‘Chels, but I have been in a state of post-traumatic shock following this latest defeat.
Travelling out to rain-swept, wind-swept Bracknell is a bloody long way to go to get tonked like this – and just a couple of weeks before we journey head off to Krakow for our two-game tour.
Anyway it’s so long since the event that I’ve completely forgotten the details of the game. On a positive note, Craig was a very clear MoM and made some fantastic saves at full stretch.
Without him, we might have had an even more embarassing scoreline to reflect upon. Sadly, he wasn’t able to stop a penalty in the first half (which would have been his fourth, I think, of the season).
They weren’t that good but we weren’t distributing the ball particularly well. Clear goal-scoring chances were scarce at their end – obviously not so scarce at ours! Two of their goals were down to me. The penalty was courtesy of a Wayne ankle-tap.
In the second half, I seem to remember a string of corners at our end and some nasty crosses. It was tiring, the pitch was heavy and as the game went on, we seemed to be drifting further and further back into our own half.
Anyway that’s enough of that. I’ve got the tour t-shirts to get done! Do widzenia, fellow ‘Chels.
